Dredge Assessment

VEQ have undertaken dredge assessment and compliance monitoring for GPC major capitol works dredge events since 2002, including the RG Tanna and Fisherman’s Landing expansions and more recently projects associated with the Western Basin Dredging and Disposal Project. The design and methods established by the researchers have been incorporated into several GPC Dredge Management Plans having been considered an acceptable approach by DERM. Leonie is an advisory member of the Western Basin Dredge and Disposal project technical review panel.

The use of data loggers and telemeted data is also an area which requires a certain level of expertise which Vision Environment has the proven capabilities to provide. Vision Environment owns and operates the loggers and associated telemetry devices as opposed to hiring thus giving an assurance to the client of a high level of maintenance and standard of care of equipment. As data transmission is as equally important as the collection itself Vision Environment has developed a process of transmission and down load through an already established FTP site and the protocols for secure data handling and storage, which can be specific for each client. The telemetry stations have been a vital addition to recent dredge assessments and monitoring.
