Senior Environmental Officer/R&D Manager

Carsten Wolff

Bachelor Science (Hons) (PhD to submit) – Marine invertebrate taxonomist/ecologist and ADAS 1 VE dive member – Led national and international biodiversity surveys, research expeditions of shallow and deep-water marine fauna (0–3000m) – Lead Curator AIMS- Authored approximately 30 international, peer-reviewed journal articles since 1997 – Instrumental in the design and construction of VE telemetered monitoring equipment.


Environmental Officer/Dive Officer

Matthew Frapple

Bachelor Science and ADAS 2 VE Dive Officer overseeing all aspects of VE dive logistics – Seven years’ experience working on projects for the resource industry – Involved in all facets of field work ranging from surface water quality, to habitat surveys including coral, seagrass and mangroves – Expertise in deploying and maintaining field instrumentation such as telemetered loggers, being integrally involved in the design and construction phases.

Dr Mark Jensen

 Bachelor of Aquaculture (Hons) PhD and VE Dive team member – Several years’ experience in consultancy undertaking field work ranging from water quality to habitat surveys, sediment sampling, aquaculture lease baseline surveys and ADCP – Post doc position at IMAS researching lobster aquaculture and publishing several peer reviewed papers.

Dr James Sadler

Masters in Oceanography – PhD in Geochemistry – ADAS 1R certified diver – Experienced in leading international multi-disciplinary oceanographic research cruises – Additional capabilities within the fields of geology, coral reef systems, and instrument maintenance and calibration – Significant and extremely varied field and laboratory experience.

James Fraserhurst

Master of Applied Science – Natural Resource Engineering – Extensive experience (15 y+) developing and realising nearshore and offshore Oceanographic measurement programs – Deploying, maintaining and supporting autonomous, telemetered and routinely sampled sites of VE New Zealand projects – Based in Christchurch, New Zealand.
